National Voters' Service Portal (NVSP) — Complete Guide

The Election Commission of India has simplified voter services for Indian citizens through its centralized digital platform, the National Voters' Service Portal. This portal functions as a unified gateway allowing electors to complete registration, download card duplicates, check inclusion lists, and submit state revisions without visiting physical municipal offices.

Core Voter Registrations & Form Types

  • Form 6 (New Voter Registration): Applicable for Indian citizens who are 18 years of age or older, or will achieve the age of 18 by the qualifying dates. This form enables enrollment in the electoral roll of their assembly constituency.
  • Form 6A (NRI Enrollment): Designed specifically for non-resident Indian citizens residing abroad who have not acquired citizenship of any foreign nation.
  • Form 7 (Objections & Deletions): Utilized to request the removal of a voter's name from the electoral roll due to relocation, death, or disqualification, as well as raising objections to another individual's inclusion.
  • Form 8 (Corrections & Shifting): Used when a registered voter shifts their residence (either within or outside the constituency) or requires updates to name, photograph, age, relative names, or epic number formatting.

Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026

Under the ECI guidelines, periodic intensive revisions (SIR) are conducted across states to verify data accuracy and clean constituency rolls. Electors are encouraged to submit their Enumeration Forms online to update active statuses and confirm records. By entering their state and alphanumeric Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) code, users can verify if their data has been uploaded to the 2026 draft database.
